Introducing Me & Amber

Introducing Me & Amber

Discover Me & Amber — an Australian design studio creating hand screenprinted greeting cards, sustainable stationery, and thoughtfully made paper goods shaped by process, material, and the quiet rhythm of making by hand.

From their shared studio practice in Australia, Me & Amber create simple, beautifully considered stationery, homewares, and artisan paper goods. Their work is grounded in a hands-on approach — shaped by process, material, and the quiet rhythm of making by hand.

At the heart of their practice is screenprinting — a traditional printmaking method they return to again and again for its tactility and honesty. Each greeting card is hand screenprinted individually, giving every piece its own subtle variation.

There is a softness in this repetition.

Ink passing through mesh.
Paper absorbing colour.
Small imperfections becoming part of the final work.

Each design begins either as a hand-cut stencil or a photographic exposure on a screen. Water-based ink is then drawn across the surface using a squeegee, layer by layer, until the image is complete. It is a process that requires patience — and it is this slowness that defines the character of their work.

Their collection of hand screenprinted greeting cards celebrates thoughtful design, slow making, and the beauty of objects created by hand.

Sustainability sits quietly within everything they do, shaping their approach to Australian-made stationery and paper goods. Recycled papers, water-based inks, and durable materials are chosen with care, alongside a commitment to producing locally in Australia. Each decision reflects a broader intention: to create work that is thoughtful in both form and impact.

Me & Amber was born from a long-standing friendship. Karen and Amber have known each other since kindergarten — growing up together, studying design at UTS, and eventually building a shared creative language through years of collaboration.

Even in everyday life, they were inseparable. So much so that Karen’s nana would often ask, “And how’s Me & Amber going?”

The name stayed.

What began as a familiar phrase between family and friends became the foundation of a studio — a quiet reflection of their partnership, their history, and their way of working.

Today, Me & Amber continues to grow from that same place: friendship, process, and a shared appreciation for simple, well-made objects.

Small details. Considered making. Work that carries the trace of human hands.
