James Barker

James Barker is an award-winning London-based illustrator creating colourful, playful paper goods with a pinch of wit. A graduate of Central Saint Martins, James’s work is inspired by nature, natural history and literary curiosities, with his distinctive naïve-style illustrations originally hand drawn in coloured pencil.

Working from his studio in South East London, James creates small-batch collections that bring a sense of joy and curiosity to everyday life.

His work has been commissioned by the British Library, Natural History Museum, Royal Academy and Laurence King Publishing.
